ELECTRICAL PRECONSTRUCTION SOFTWARE

Resolve the expensive questions while they are still cheap.

Preconstruction is where an electrical job is either understood or misunderstood. Everything after it — the bid, the buyout, the coordination, the install — inherits whatever was decided, assumed, or overlooked in those few weeks.
In Development

The information is there. It is just scattered.

Electrical projects rarely suffer from missing information. They suffer because the information lives in nine places: the power plans, the one-line, the panel schedules, the specification, the mechanical equipment schedule, the architectural backgrounds, the details, the general notes, and three addenda issued after everyone had already started.

Reconciling those is real work, and it is the work that gets compressed when a bid date moves up.

What a preconstruction pass should produce

  • A defensible scope statement

What is in the electrical contract, what is explicitly excluded, and what is genuinely ambiguous — with the document reference for each.

  • A system model

Service, distribution, transformers, panels, and the feeders that connect them — extracted from the one-line and reconciled against the schedules.

  • A risk register

Conflicts between documents, missing information, unresolved responsibility, and revision impacts, each with a source and a severity.

  • Verified calculations

Voltage drop, conductor sizing, and conduit fill run against the actual configuration rather than assumed from a rule of thumb.

Ask the project directly

Voltaire, VoltDrop’s electrical intelligence assistant, lets you put questions to the document set in plain language: what changed in this addendum, why was this run flagged, where does this requirement come from. Every answer references the drawing, schedule, or specification section behind it.

Voltaire is in active development. It is designed to show its sources rather than ask for trust.
